The WA State Government has given its final approval to the Port Hedland Voluntary Buy-Back Scheme (PHVBS), giving certainty to those eligible property owners who have already indicated interest in participating.

Expressions of Interest letters will be issued later in December to those owners who have indicated an interest in participating in the PHVBS.

Since July 2020, Hedland Maritime Initiative (HMI) has engaged directly with property owners, through written correspondence, phone calls and emails. There has also been engagement with industry, government agencies and departments, and the Town of Port Hedland.

HMI has also hosted online briefing sessions which have been attended by a number of property owners, and delivered presentations to the Port Hedland Industries Council’s Community Industry Forum on two occasions.
